SOMETHING GOOD IS GOING ON IN FRANKLIN COUNTY, COLUMBUS OHIO!
In collaboration with Franklin County Jobs and Family Services, Ohio Association of Foodbanks, The Gertrude Woods Foundation and The Welcome HOME Foundation an apprenticeship program has been formed that offers Franklin County Food Stamp Recipients an opportunity for financial stability and self sufficiency. Recipients are receiving extensive training in home rehabilitation. The training offers community revitalization, economic development, financial stability and self sufficiency. These are skills needed to prosper in life. Many recipients are convicted felons. This program gives them a second chance. The Ohio Association of Foodbanks provides the tools needed to prepare the recipients for employment and entrepreneurial opportunities.
"One street at a Time" is the Gertrude Woods motto for the Driving Park Revitalization project.
